About this Dog
there, I'm Scout, your potential new best friend! I'm just a lovable 6-year-old German Shepherd, and I'm thrilled to meet you! My foster mom calls me Scout, just like the courageous and adventurous character from "To Kill a Mockingbird." With my tomboyish spirit, I'm always ready for an adventure, exploring the world with my tail wagging and fearlessly taking on whatever comes my way. I'm a total sweetheart, and meeting new people makes me super happy. Pets and belly rubs are my absolute favorite, so you can bet I'll be showering you with love and affection! I've learned lots of cool tricks, too – sit, down, and shake are a piece of cake for me! I'm still working on ‘stay’ and ‘place’ when someone comes to the door, but I promise I'll get the hang of it with some practice and those yummy treats! I’m also housebroken. Oh, and did I mention my stunning red coat? It's like the color of a fox – totally unique and eye-catching! Plus, I'm the perfect size at just 55ish pounds. Not too big, not too small, just right for cuddles and playtime! I'm a champ on walks, but sometimes I get excited when passing other dogs. But don't worry, I'm a work in progress and eager to be the best walking buddy you could ever ask for! When my foster mom is away, I'm crate-trained and happy to hang out there until she's back. But when she's home, I like to be by her side at all times. I guess you can say I'm a typical loyal and loving German Shepherd! I have a blast playing with my foster sister, although she's a bit older and sometimes prefers her quiet moments. Speaking of pals, I've been dreaming about having a sibling to play with regularly. Someone who's up for endless games of fetch, zoomies in the yard, and maybe even some friendly wrestling matches. However, if being the center of attention is more your style, I'm more than happy to be your one and only furry companion. Whether it's just you and me or an extra buddy in the mix, I'm all about creating unforgettable moments and wagging tails together! Sometimes, I have a little quirk when it comes to mealtime and toys – I'm not too thrilled about having other dogs around while enjoying my food and toys. My foster mom feeds us in different rooms, which I appreciate as I'm working on improving my behavior. I'm learning that sharing toys and food can be fun, too, but it's a process that requires patience and understanding from both me and my humans. With their guidance, I'm confident I'll continue to progress and become more comfortable in these situations. Thunderstorms, ugh! They scare me. When they roll in, I might jump on your lap for comfort or seek refuge in the bathtub. It's my way of staying safe and secure during the loud noises and bright flashes. A little extra love during storms would mean the world to me. I love patrolling the fence around the yard every morning with my older foster sister. We make sure everything is safe and sound for you! So, a fenced-in yard (4ft+) would be paw-some for me to continue my important mission. Car rides? Count me in! I love going on adventures, and I'm always up for a ride in the car. But when it comes to water, I'm not the biggest fan. Garden hoses and pools make me back up and keep my distance, but I do let my foster mom give me baths, even though I don’t like it. There are so many other exciting things we can do together, though! When introduced to cats, I couldn't help but be curious. They seemed like fascinating creatures, and I wanted to sniff and get to know them better. But here's the thing: my instincts kicked in when they darted out of the room, and I couldn't resist the urge to chase after them. But I'm a quick learner, and with the proper training and gradual introductions, I'm sure we can work on my cat manners together. So, if you're looking for a loving, loyal, and adventurous companion, I'm your girl! My name is Scout, and I can't wait to be your best friend for life. If you have a fenced-in yard and abundant love to share, I'll be the happiest pup ever! Adopt me, and let's embark on the most incredible journey together! If you think I’m the perfect girl for you, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org. I am being fostered in Raleigh, NC.

Adopt Scout and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Scout's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Scout's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Scout, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Scout's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Scout was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Scout’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Scout’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Scout’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
