🐾 Meet Hugo — A Gentle 7-Year-Old Companion Seeking a Peaceful Forever Home Hugo is a 7-year-old domestic short-haired cat with a tender heart and a quiet, observant soul. He’s mellow, emotionally intuitive, and prefers a calm environment where he can relax and feel safe. His favorite pastimes include lounging in cozy corners, observing his surroundings, enjoying a good brushing, and occasionally rolling around with his catnip toys. Hugo has a sensitive nature and thrives with gentle energy. He can be a bit skittish at times, so he would do best in a home without young children or other animals—ideally with someone patient, kind, and consistent who understands and respects a cat’s boundaries and emotional world. He also has known food sensitivities, and is currently on a hydrolyzed or hypoallergenic diet that helps keep him balanced and well. Maintaining this diet is important for his ongoing health and comfort. Rehoming Hugo is a deeply thoughtful and bittersweet decision. His current guardian is in a life season of deep personal healing and transition, and wants Hugo to be with someone who can give him the steady, nurturing attention he truly deserves. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Hugo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Hugo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Hugo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Hugo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Hugo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
