About this Dog
This sweet girl was found June 8th in a ditch near Eaton Ferry / Epworth Roads near Lake Gaston in Littleton, NC. We had her checked for a microchip and when we found out she didn’t have one, we got her tested for heart worms and brought her up to date on her vaccines. She is negative for heart worms, but positive for Lyme disease, which we will treat her for starting this week. We have called animal controls in the Lake Gaston area and no one has reported her missing, so she is here in Raleigh with us—we can only keep her until the end of the month and we are trying to avoid taking her to a shelter. We’ve contacted every rescue we can think of and posted and cross posted on social media. We call her Betty Koda after the bat from Ferngully. She weighs about 40 pounds. The vet says she is only 8 months old, but probably won’t get much bigger. She’s already had a litter of puppies, though we don’t know when so we need to wait to spay her. Koda is still recovering from whatever trauma she endured; she sleeps a lot but is well behaved and affectionate. She is not at all aggressive towards people or other dogs; we have never seen her around a cat. We have not noticed any food aggression or food allergies. She is friendly, house-trained, and knows basic commands. If you can help us find this sweet girl a forever home, we would greatly appreciate it. We will happily transport her to a forever home, rescue, or foster.

Adopt Betty Koda and Receive Betty Koda's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Betty Koda's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$5 is Betty Koda's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Betty Koda, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Betty Koda's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Betty Koda was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Betty Koda’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Betty Koda’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Betty Koda’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
