About this Dog
Crisco is a very special boy. He is a Standard Poodle around 4 years old. We got a call one night that Crisco was at a vets office and the owner was going to put him to sleep. Now..... this dog was once a serious Show Dog and within 2 years his health declined rapidly. Of course we scooped him up and brought him to our vet. He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis, a thyroid condition and he was very underweight. As soon as his Pancreatitis is completely cleared we will test him for Addison's disease. Crisco's skin was awful when we got him but now that he is on thyroid medication it is starting to look better. His owner said he was having about 2 seizures a month but we haven't seen one yet. We have a camera on him in his kennel at the vets office 24/7. Crisco is ready for a foster home if not his forever home. He is absolutely adorable, super friendly and loving and good with other dogs. He is great in a car, on a leash and is house trained. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Crisco was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Crisco’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Crisco’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Crisco’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
