With the right environment and support, he can flourish and become a beloved member of the household.Due to a previous biting incident tied to resource guarding (particularly with toys), Buddy needs a home that can provide structure, guidance, and ongoing positive reinforcement. With consistent training and patience, Buddy has the potential to thrive and form a strong, trusting bond with his person. He’ll do best with an experienced, committed owner who understands his needs and is willing to help him continue learning and growing. A securely fenced yard (no chain link) is required to ensure he has a safe space to play and decompress.Buddy thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation, making him an ideal companion for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. Regular walks, play sessions, and engaging games like fetch or agility training will help keep him happy and well-adjusted. Socialization is also crucial for Buddy; introducing him to a variety of people and environments will help him build confidence. Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buddy (Merrick) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buddy (Merrick)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Buddy (Merrick)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buddy (Merrick)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
