Kenya is a Husky with a heart as big as her energy! She's sweet, playful, and full of potential. This beautiful girl is still perfecting her potty training, but sheâs already a pro at walking on a leash and is super treat-motivated (because who doesnât love treats?!). If youâre ready to work with a dog whoâs eager to learn and grow, Kenya might just be your new best friend.Kenyaâs got a soft spot for other dogs and is great in playgroups here at Burlington Animal Services. She loves running and playing with her dog friends, and sheâs been super friendly with the kids and strangers she's met so far - just a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. But, a heads up: sheâs a bit cat curious (okay, maybe more like a âletâs chase themâ curious), so a home without cats would be ideal.Kenya is still young and figuring things out, but sheâs already showing some great signs of being an awesome companion. She loves belly rubs, cuddles, and will absolutely melt when you pull out a brush - she knows itâs time for a good pampering! When itâs playtime, though, sheâs non-stop. She loves running around and having fun, especially with other dogs. However, if she doesnât get enough playtime or if sheâs left alone for too long, she can get a bit destructive, so a crate at night is definitely recommended.Kenya is very respectful when taking treats (no snatching here!) and already knows how to `sit.` Weâre working on `lay down` and `come,` and sheâs making good progress. Sheâs a smart, sweet girl who just needs the right home where she can continue to learn, play, and thrive.What Kenya would do best with:- A high-energy home (sheâs a Husky, after all!)- Someone with Husky experience would be perfect- A secure yard (sheâs an escape artist if thereâs a way out!)- Someone patient to help her continue her potty training and crate trainingKenyaâs got a lot of love to give, and with a little training, sheâs going to be an incredible companion. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and KENYA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, KENYA’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the KENYA’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, KENYA’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
