About this Dog
Rosie is a 3-year-old Yorkie-Maltese mix who weighs 10 lbs. Rosie is a calm girl who loves her person. Rosie happily follows her foster mom around the home. She's shy but tends to bond tightly with a female, so a female household would be best for her. Rosie came from a hoarding situation with over 29 dogs in the home. Rosie really watches and learns from the dogs in her foster home. Her adoptive home should preferably have another small social dog, no larger than 15 pounds. Rosie has good energy with other dogs and oftentimes gets in the dog beds or an open crate with them. Rosie will be cautious around new people, especially men, so it will take time for her to warm up. She's not an attention seeker and not yet a lap dog, but she will definitely capture your heart. She has a peaceful presence. Rosie is crate trained and doing very well with housetraining and leash walking; in fact, she looks forward to her daily walks. Rosie will require weekly combing, but thankfully, her hair does not mat easily. Her hair does grow fast, so her adopter needs to be up for frequent grooming. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. This allows Rosie the opportunity to play safely supervised in her own yard, helps with housetraining, and most importantly, it is an added layer of safety because Rosie is quick! The secure fence must be at least 4 feet with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing), it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business days. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500

Adopt Rosie and Receive Rosie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Rosie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Rosie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Rosie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Rosie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rosie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rosie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rosie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rosie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
