About this Dog
Meet Louie, our incredible 6-year-old blind pup, lovingly named after Louis Braille, the inventor of the braille system for the blind. Despite his handicap, he’s a happy-go-lucky, confident, and resilient little dude who has genuinely brought so much love and laughter into our home. His presence has been a beautiful reminder of the joy, strength, and adaptability dogs are capable of. Louie weighs about 35 lbs and is packed with personality. He loves chewing on large antlers, snuggling up with his people, taking stroller rides, going on walks, and soaking in the sunshine. He has quickly mastered the layout of his foster home, confidently navigates with the help of his senses, and never lets his blindness hold him back. He's also crate trained, completely housebroken, and walks beautifully on his lead. To help ease his transition, Louie will come with a harness, leash, collar, dog halo for added mobility confidence, sensory-stimulating toys, clothes, and some of his favorite accessories. He will also require a yearly routine eye check-up to monitor his eye health and overall comfort. Louie would do best in a calm, structured home with no children under 10 and no other dogs. While he’s done wonderfully with both dogs (including his two foster siblings) and children during introductions, he can be easily startled and would thrive in a more predictable environment. If you’re looking for a loving, resilient companion with a heart as big as his spirit, Louie is ready to bring his sunshine into your life. Adopt Louis and Receive Louis's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Louis's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Louis's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Louis, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Louis's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Louis was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Louis’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Louis’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Louis’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
