About this Dog
Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. • Energy level: medium • Potty training: trained • Fenced yard: would love one, but not necessary if he has safe access to yard space • Shared walls: suitable • People: all • Dogs: all (with supervision around toys) • Other: Albert has Cushing’s disease and requires daily medication Overview Looking for a loyal companion who will be your devoted shadow? Albert the red and white dachshund might be the perfect addition to your family. Albert is a handsome 13-year-old gentleman weighing 24 lbs who knows how to be the perfect companion. He came to Little Paws when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s ready to share his golden years with a loving family. This distinguished fellow has so much love left to give and would thrive with someone who appreciates a mature, well-mannered dog. Environment Albert enjoys moderate exercise with walks and playtime, but he’s equally content relaxing by your side. He’s completely house-trained and does well in a fenced yard where he can explore safely. Albert loves car rides and is great on walks with his leash. He’s quiet and respectful, making him suitable for homes with shared walls. When left alone, Albert is very content and well-behaved—he simply waits patiently for your return. Pets & People Albert is friendly with everyone he meets, greeting both familiar faces and strangers with a wagging tail. He gets along well with other dogs but can be a bit possessive over his favorite toys, so supervision during playtime is recommended. He would also do wonderfully as an only dog where he can have all your attention to himself. Albert does not get along with cats, so a feline-free home would be best for everyone. Health Albert has Cushing’s disease, which is well-managed with once-daily medication. This is a common condition in senior dogs, and Albert takes his medicine like a champ! With proper care, dogs with Cushing’s can live happy, comfortable lives. Location Albert is available for adoption from Charlotte, NC and loves car rides, so he’s ready to travel to meet his new family. Please email [email protected] with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Albert is $150.

Adopt Albert3 and Receive Albert3's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Albert3's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Albert3's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Albert3, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Albert3's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Albert3 was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Albert3’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Albert3’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Albert3’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
