Dog adoption in Charlotte, NC, 28269 Pit bull Dog "Casper"

I adopted Casper when he was just 6 weeks old, and he has been part of my family ever since. He is potty and pad trained and knows how to sit, lay down, stay, give paw, and even give hugs. I call him my “Kissy Bear” because it sounds a little like Casper—and because he absolutely loves giving kisses. ❤️

Casper is an incredibly affectionate and loyal dog. He loves his family deeply and is very protective of the people he considers his own. He likes to stay close, keep watch, and make sure his loved ones are safe. Underneath that protective side is a sweet, loving guy who enjoys affection, companionship, attention, and, of course, treats.

Rehoming Casper is an extremely difficult decision. I recently discovered that I am allergic to dogs after spending years suffering from severe allergies without knowing what was causing them. I also currently live somewhere that does not allow animals, which has made keeping him with me impossible long-term.

I previously relocated Casper and his brother, Cane, to someone I trusted, believing they were going to a safe and loving forever home. Tragically, only two weeks later, I learned that Cane had passed away. I immediately went and brought Casper back home. He had not only lost the brother he had spent his life with, but I was also deeply concerned about the care he had received while there.

Because of everything Casper has recently experienced, finding the right home for him means more to me than simply finding someone willing to take him. He needs someone patient and loving who understands that he has experienced a major loss and needs time, stability, reassurance, and companionship.

I know there are so many beautiful dogs searching for homes, so finding Casper's person may take time. I am willing to help with his transition and initial expenses for the right, carefully selected home. My priority is knowing that he will be safe, loved, protected, spoiled, and treated like a member of the family.

Casper needs somewhere to go—not because I don't want him, but because he deserves a home where he can have the companionship, protection, care, love, stability, and attention that I can no longer provide him.

He deserves someone who will love him for the great guy he is.
