About this Dog
Mabel requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet her. The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC (copy/paste into new window) FOSTER COMMENTS: Mabel is one of the sweetest pups we’ve ever fostered and we have fostered MANY dogs! She loves everyone she’s met, 2 and 4-legged (not sure about cats but probably). She’s gentle with children and ready to play with all dogs she meets, both big and small. She absolutely loves people and no lap is exempt from sleeping on. By the way, your hands should be loving on her at all times! Mabel loves affection from humans and will give it right back to you. Mabel has energy and loves to play with other dogs. She caters to the playstyle of the other dog. She’s gentle with our 40lb older dog and is rough & tumble with our 15 month old 75lb girl. Both of our female dogs love her, and she is playful submissive with them both. Mabel is house trained and crate trained. She stays in her kennel when we’re not home as she might find something to chew on if we’re not around so better safe than sorry (still a puppy)! She does initially whine when we leave the house but settles down. She loves her dog toys and chew bones, including tug of war with her rope toys and chasing balls of all sizes. Mabel walks well on a leash and even enjoys leash walks beside my slow scooter. She is momentarily shy with new people for about 25 seconds and then falls in love. We think Mabel was previously handled roughly – she will pancake to the ground if you move too quickly but also overcome that fear with a kind word and gentle hand. Mabel would love a doggie brother or sister but with exercise, I think she’d be happy as a one and only. A fenced yard would be best so she can really run and play. She’s an athlete! If you like hiking or just long walks – she’s ready. Do you need a running partner – she’s there for you once she is full grown. A dog buddy that will play with another pup? Bring it on! Couch potato? She’s keeping your spot warm. Mabel is simply a great all-round girl. With love and training, she is going to grow into a phenomenal girl! Mabel is now ready to find her furever home. Is your lap available for this sweet girl? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Mabel came to our home as a stray. We found her dragging a heavy chain attached to a collar that was about to embed in her neck. She and another dog were both running on a 55/mile/hour road looking for help. When my teenage daughter saw and ran up to them, they ran right to her. When she sat on the ground, both pups laid down in her lap and relaxed. My daughter’s lap is still one of Mabel’s favorite places to sleep! Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. Adopt Mabel and Receive Mabel's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mabel's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Mabel's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Mabel, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Mabel's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mabel was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mabel’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mabel’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mabel’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
