About this Dog
Meet Riggs - a well-mannered gentleman who's ready to find his new home! Riggs was recently returned to ACS due to his owner's passing. Being back at the shelter after a year away has been causing him significant stress. When he came back to us, Riggs was found to be Heartworm positive (for the second time). He has already been treated and while Riggs is taking things easy while here at the Sanctuary, he can still go home with you today! He just needs a little downtime and limited physical activity until May 6th. Riggs did live with another dog in foster care, and they got along well, but he's not too fond of cats. A feline free home is recommended; however, a calm dog buddy would be fine. Riggs himself is a calm, friendly, and affectionate companion dog who absolutely adores people. He has a gentle demeanor and is a very, very good boy! He is housetrained, loves being outside (would do great in an indoor/outdoor covered kennel), and walks wonderfully on a leash. Riggs is also working on crate training. He would thrive in a home with stay-at-home seniors or anyone looking for a peaceful companion. If you're looking for a loving, well-mannered dog to be your buddy, Riggs is your guy!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Riggs (Buddy) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Riggs (Buddy)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Riggs (Buddy)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Riggs (Buddy)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
