About this Dog
Benson is a 6-year-old, German Shepard/hound mix. His birthday is December 30, 2018. I adopted him on March 20, 2019, from Care of DC adoption agency in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is house trained and gets along well with other dogs and children. Benson has been around cats but due to his size, cats normally find him rambunctious. Benson is a very sweet dog; he loves peanut butter and running around with other dogs at dog parks. He is not fond of large bodies of water and doesn’t particularly like to take baths but is very manageable, especially when treats are involved. I believe Benson would thrive in an environment that has access to a yard where he can spend 1-2 hours daily outside. Benson is most happy when he has another dog to explore with, I believe his new home should have another dog or children in the home. Benson has been with me through the passing of my mother and other life changing events and provided me with so much support. I only hope to find a home to love him forever.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Benson was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Benson’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Benson’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Benson’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
