About this Dog
Location: VA We think Rosie is a blue heeler/german shepherd mix based on her character traits and looks. She was pulled from a shelter in Bedford County VA where she was brought in as a stray, so we don’t know anything about her history. Rosie is slow to warm up to people and other dogs but she’s is a complete love bug once she is won over. She has a high prey drive and can be difficult to recall when she sees a squirrel or deer to chase after. Rosie is a medium energy dog. While she is happy to lay around and play with her toys, I wouldn’t recommend her with smaller children, as sometimes she can be a bit rough. My child is a very dog savvy 5 year old and they do well together. Rosie is crate and potty trained. She walks well on a leash. She is approx 2 years old, 50 lbs, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on preventatives. She has not been cat tested, but I don’t think she would do well with them just judging by her prey drive. She does well with other dogs that we’ve met on walks and I think slow introductions would be needed for resident dogs. My male Weimaraner does not like Rosie and has not adjusted to having her here, but it’s not for lack of her trying to be his friend. Please contact [email protected]. Adopt Rosie and Receive Rosie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Rosie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Rosie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Rosie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Rosie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rosie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rosie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rosie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rosie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
