About this Dog
Birthdate: 01/02/2021Breed: One of a kindWeight: 83.2 lbs From Duke's favorite volunteer: My boy Duke is the cutest “Bull in a china shop” you will ever meet! He is so full of happy energy, he enjoys just about anything. He loves long walks, playing rope tug, or just entertaining himself chomping on a tennis ball. Duke will never pass up the chance to snuggle on the swing for some serious one on one time, and even enjoys belly rubs. Duke loves affection, but is not a big fan of being hugged too tightly, and occasionally when its time to stop snuggling, he can get a bit excited with the zoomies . That being said, calming him down is usually pretty easy with treats, chicken jerky works every time! Duke is not a huge fan of the water, but does enjoy getting his paws wet on a warm day while he helps himself to a drink from the stream or pool. This boy is so smart , he knows several commands. He knows sit, come and “ leave it”, we are working on “ shake” now. Duke would do best with a fun, active family with dog experience, as well as adult children, just due to his size and strength. This handsome guy has a heart of gold, a tail that never stops wagging, and a personality that never stops making you smile. Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Adopt Duke and Receive Duke's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Duke's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Duke's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Duke, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Duke's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Duke was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Duke’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Duke’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Duke’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
