Hello,
I am looking for a safe and responsible rescue placement for my dog, Ghost, a 5-year-old male Husky/German Shepherd/Malamute mix, weighing approximately 78 lbs. We currently live in Nassau County, Long Island, NY.
I am relocating to Florida, and unfortunately, the 55+ community where I will be living does not allow pets. Because of this restriction, I am unable to bring Ghost with me. This is an extremely difficult decision, and my priority is finding him a loving and permanent home rather than placing him in an uncertain situation.
Ghost is a wonderful dog who behaves well with children, other dogs, and cats. He is not currently neutered.
I am willing to provide his veterinary records, vaccination information, microchip information, and any other information that may help with his placement.
I have attached a recent photograph of Ghost. I would greatly appreciate knowing whether you are currently accepting owner surrenders. If you are unable to take him, I would be very grateful for a referral to another reputable rescue organization that may be able to help.
Ghost deserves a loving home where he can remain a member of the family, and I am committed to finding the right placement for him.

How will Ghost receive the contribution?

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ghost was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ghost’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Ghost’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ghost’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
