About this Cat

I adopted Sophie when she was 3yrs old from the Humane Society in TN. She had already been spayed, and previous owner/s had all four of her paws declawed. The reason or biggest reason for me wanting her at that time was her age, she's all black and her front paws were declawed. I knew she didn't stand a chance come Halloween if someone who actually wanted a cat didn't come along. She's been skittish from the time I got her, time has helped, patience and me being alone for the most part. Her card stated no other animals or small children, when I moved to NY the first time one of my daughters had a small dog after about a month sophie would come out sniff him and walk away. There have always been children in my life I have four daughters, Sophie loves kids now anyone who comes into my home are told they aren't to rush her or chase her. She loves being petted and knows when the kids come it spoiling time. With me alone she's like me, i'll come to you when I want to be noticed or scratched. Right now though with my health, i'm not steady on my feet and she does walk in front of me, I've tripped and hit my head against wall couple times already. I would ask my family here, but the daughter who would take her has passed away this past Nov, the other two up here both have animals and my sister here has large dog and a cat so they are all a no go. Nobody else I know of which aren't many are reliable or responsible enough for me to entrust her to. This isn't something I've come to easily, she's over 11yrs and I know an older cats aren't easy to find homes for. She doesn't jump on counters, the highest thing she does is a bed so no worries about that either.

Adopt Sophie and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Sophie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Sophie receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Sophie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Sophie's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sophie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sophie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Sophie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sophie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
