About this Cat
Meet Augustus – an 11-year-old neutered male cat with short soft white fur and a unique grey faded "avatar line" on his head. Augustus is best suited for a calm home with a single person or a couple. He’s not a typical lap cat at first — he doesn't enjoy belly rubs and prefers not to be held unless he truly trusts you. But once he does, you'll see a whole new side of him: he’ll curl up on your lap and seek out pets and affection on his own terms. Augustus enjoys: • Playtime with his favorite toys (especially plastic straws!) • Mealtime (he gets very excited) • Quiet nights roaming freely (he gets a bit vocal if he feels locked in) • Being around a few trusted people once he opens up, though he’s happiest as the only pet He has lived peacefully with another cat in the past and even adjusted to visiting a home with a small dog. Augustus isn’t currently up to date on shots, but he’s been healthy and well-cared for over the years. He hasn’t been to the vet in a few years, but before that, he went in for all his appointments. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, augustus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and augustus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, augustus’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the augustus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, augustus’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
