About this Dog
Tad is available and ready to find his forever home! Tad came to us from Texas, where he was in the shelter. He is a Chihuahua / Dachshund mix, or Chiweenie. He is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs around 5 pounds. Meet Tad! This tiny ball of love is eager to share all his affection with his forever family. He absolutely loves being right next to his foster mom, following her around in hopes of snagging a tasty treat or some snuggly cuddles. Tad is super food motivated—he adores cheese and treats so much that he can’t help but do a happy little spin whenever he spots them! Tad enjoys curling up in anyone's lap for some gentle pets and scratches or simply to keep warm. Being so small, he seeks out the coziest blankets and sunny spots to snuggle into. He also loves soaking up the sunshine outside, but he'll need a fully fenced yard to keep him safe. With his curious nature, Tad loves exploring his surroundings. This sweet little guy is friendly with strangers and quickly warms up to new adults. He’s comfortable sleeping in his crate and handles being alone like a pro when his foster mom is away. Tad is mostly housebroken, with just the occasional accident. While he gets along well with other dogs, he doesn't necessarily need a furry companion in his forever home. Tad is still figuring out how to play, but he’s slowly coming out of his shell with the help of his foster family. He can be a bit vocal, barking or whining when his foster mom leaves or returns, but most of the time, he’s a relaxed little buddy. In his downtime, you’ll find Tad happily curled up beside you or snuggled in his cozy bed. He’s leash trained and enjoys his walks, although he does get easily distracted. Thanks to plenty of positive reinforcement, yummy treats, and the example set by his foster furry friend, Tad is making wonderful progress. Get ready to fall in love with this happy little guy! We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Tad is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm. He has had a ProHeart injection which takes care of his hw prevention for one year. His adoption fee is $475

Adopt Tad and Receive Tad's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Tad's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Tad's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Tad, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Tad's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Tad was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Tad’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Tad’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Tad’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
