Meet Penne, a 40 pound poodle mix who came up from the South and has fully embraced her new life as a city girl. She’s been settling into foster life in NYC like she’s lived here forever, strolling the sidewalks, lounging on the couch, and sniffing out every squirrel in the park. Penne is friendly, low-key but playful. Her idea of a perfect day includes a few good walks, a quick game of tug, and then plenty of laying by you on the couch. She’s got that perfect in between energy happy to head out and explore but just as happy napping next to you while you work. She’s crate trained and house trained, sleeps while you’re at work, and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and loves meeting kids. She’s food-motivated and already learning “sit” and “stay” like a champ. Penne can’t wait to continue learning and growing in her forever home!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Penne was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Penne’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Penne’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Penne’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
