About this Dog
Red Guardian is one of the lucky few who made it out of the #Brooklyn115 hoarding rescue. No AC, no water, just extreme neglect. Now he’s learning what safety, comfort, and love feel like, probably for the very first time. Red is only 2 years old and 15 lbs, we think he’s some kind of extra handsome Pomeranian mix. He is fluffy, wide-eyed, and soulful in that way only dogs who’ve been through something can be. These days, Red is pee pad trained, crate trained, and totally obsessed with his foster brother @lordmoosh. He loves other dogs, cheese snacks, brushing sessions, and relaxing in quiet corners. While he’s still not a fan of being picked up or approached too quickly, and doesn’t understand that he can go on a walk, he adores head rubs and is slowly opening up in the gentlest ways to human touch. His foster mom said it best: “He’s been an amazing form of therapy. In my lowest moments, he comes over, forehead to forehead, and just stays. He’s been a blessing during a really awful time.” Red came to us in rough shape, covered in feces, matted, scared, and shut down. With some grooming (thank you so much to @trimsbytats and @nowyoureclean), patience, and lots of care from his foster mom, he’s become this beautiful, curious little guy with so much heart. We’re now looking for a forever home where he can continue healing , ideally with a calm, patient person or couple, and maybe a dog buddy to show him the ropes.

Adopt Red Guardian and Receive Red Guardian's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Red Guardian's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Red Guardian's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Red Guardian, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Red Guardian's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Red Guardian was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Red Guardian’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Red Guardian’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Red Guardian’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
