About this Cat
Melmoth is slow to warm up to new people, but if you take the time to earn his trust you can become his favorite person! He's not shy or timid and he'll be quick to let you know if he doesn't want you in his personal space. But he's always happy to show affection on his own terms, usually by rubbing against your legs or sitting on your feet. And once he gets to know you, he's happy to receive pets and may even let you pick him up. Melmoth is an industrious biscuit-maker. He has an adorable habit of kneading with all four paws at once when he's feeling happy and comfortable on a pile of soft blankets. This style of biscuit-making also makes for the perfect back massage if you can contrive to be lying under a blanket near him when the mood strikes. Melmoth is an energetic cat who is always up for playtime! He loves chasing wand toys and wrestling with toy mice and plushies. But his favorite pastime is gazing out the window to watch for birds. He is very treat motivated and can be eased into new relationships and ways of interacting with liberal bribery. Though he was quite aloof when first rescued, he's now on his way to becoming a lap cat thanks to daily sessions with a Churu treat tube. It takes some time for Melmoth to adjust to other cats, but he’s open to making friends if you introduce them slowly. He doesn't like being cooped up in a small room and would much rather have free rein to stretch his legs and be wherever the people are. He doesn't hate all small spaces, though: he loves his carrier and will often go inside of his own accord, especially when still adjusting to a new space. Because he gets overstimulated at times, he would do best in a home with an adult(s) that knows how to read a cat's body language. This cat can be adopted as a single cat or with a calm companion.

Adopt Melmoth and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Melmoth's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Melmoth's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Melmoth, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Melmoth's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Melmoth was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Melmoth’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Melmoth’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Melmoth’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
