About this Cat
*To meet or adopt Ruby, please visit https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! We are not able to reply to DMs, emails, or inquiries made through 3rd party pet adoption websites.*Read more about Ruby on Instagram at @goodhome_cattington and @goodhomes_ruby, and see her progress from her first foster home @goodhomes_cats!*Age: approximately 3 years as of 1/1/2024*Temperament: playful, shy, sweet*Ruby will benefit from an experienced, patient cat person who can dedicate time and attention to help her blossom.Beautiful, sweet Ruby came to us from a multi-cat home where she was neglected. She is still decompressing in foster care and will benefit from a patient cat whisperer who'll earn her trust and slowly expand her comfort zone. You'll be richly rewarded with this crown jewel of a kitty!Ruby loves to play! She'll wrestle with your slippers chase the laser pointer or any toy that rattles and happily destroy wand toys. And she is crazy for CatTV videos - but make sure your TV is stable because she will attempt to go hunting! Ruby loves to be near her people. Once she's feeling stable and confident, she will opt to sleep and lie near you just to relax. If you move out of your seat, she'll keep it warm for you! She also loves horizontal scratchers & gazing out the windows with a breeze going through her fur.Because Ruby has had limited experience with people, she is very shy at first. At first, she may hide, hiss, or growl if she's scared or feeling cornered, however she does not bite or scratch. She instead uses her voice to warn you to please go slower and respect her boundaries. For this reason we feel Ruby would do best in a quiet stable home without young children. Ruby came from a multi-cat household and got along ok with other cats there. She's been flying solo in foster care and has done well there as well. She could do well as a single kitty, or might make a sweet & loving companion to a friendly, gentle cat, possibly an older male.Ruby will benefit from an adopter who's willing to work on furthering her socialization. She is currently accepting pets at her foster home, but she is still a bit unsure. It's as if she wants affection, but isn't sure how to ask for or receive it. She is very treat-motivated, so that will be a helpful tool as you work with her. She may be a raw gem now, but like her name, she's got a sparkly, unique, rich personality just waiting to be discovered! To meet or adopt Ruby, please submit a Q&A for her on our website: https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! ----------GOOD HOME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
