Cruiser is an adult neutered male Tiger and White DSH. He came in with some nasty bite wounds that were cleaned up and now very well healed. He has taken some time to adjust but we finally got him to PURR and roll on his back for belly rubs! We were all so excited! He is a gentle soul who deserves a loving home. What Archie, Grayson and Cruiser have in common is that they are all FIV positive. FIV is NOT a death sentence for cats. FIV is a virus that only infects cats. They can live long and happy lives just like cats without the virus. It is a virus spread through deep bite wounds. All the boys are friendly and not aggressive. With good nutrition and veterinary care, they can have normal life expectancies. But the best news is that they can live with other cats (even non-infected cats). The virus DOES NOT spread through casual contact. So as long as everyone coexists peacefully (no aggressive fighting), Archie, Grayson and Cruiser can live with other cats. Hooray!!! For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cruiser was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cruiser’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cruiser’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cruiser’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
