About this Dog
We had Hercules join our home in 2022 after his previous owner failed to pick him up at the end of a board and train. We have previously tried to rehome him but he did not do well during meet and greets with homes with other dogs. We decided we’d keep him but he’s far too large and requires much more exercise and attention than we’re able to provide and afford. We have cats and small dogs and we have reached our breaking point with him attacking the smaller dogs or cats. It’s really sad and frustrating for all of us for him to be kenneled pretty much all day and night because we can’t trust him around the rest of the pets. We have already tried muzzles, long leash training, renting out yards, hiring walkers, signing him up for pack walks. The places he’s thrived in are farms type set ups with lots of room for home to run. We rented a farm type airbnb a few years back and he was so much happier and calmer. We hate to see him go and I do feel like we failed him but he deserves so much more than what we can give. This is our last resort.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Hercules was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Hercules’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Hercules’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Hercules’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
