About this Dog
Meet Mooney – The One-Eyed Wonder with a Heart Full of Love Every once in a while, a dog comes along whose story sticks with you — and Mooney is that kind of dog. This 6-year-old Shih Tzu (a youthful 14 lbs of love and charm) was found wandering with a little female companion, seemingly dropped into the world out of nowhere. For over a month, no one came searching for them. But Mooney? He never lost his spark. Mooney recently had to have one eye removed due to painful glaucoma, and while he's now a one-eyed pup, he’s pain-free and thriving — seeing the world just fine, thank you very much, especially with his heart. He also has a pin in his hip from a past injury, which means he sometimes lifts one leg when walking, but it doesn’t slow him down or dampen his spirit. Think of it as a little swagger. This boy is a delightful mix of calm and curious — not a couch potato, but not bouncing off the walls either. He’s observant, clever, and has a peaceful energy that fills a room. His love is gentle and steady, like he's been saving it just for the right person. Mooney walks beautifully on leash, greets everyone with a quiet, waggy hello, and gets along wonderfully with both cats and other dogs. He's hypoallergenic and rocks the salon like a seasoned pro (his groomer is officially smitten!). He'll need regular grooming every 2–3 months to keep him looking dapper, depending on your preferred style. Mooney isn’t looking for pity — he’s looking for love. He’s not broken. He’s just been waiting for someone who sees how beautiful second chances can be. If you’re ready to give this sweet, soulful guy the life he deserves, please email us at [email protected]. Mooney is ready to play the best game of all — Life — and he just needs a forever teammate to play it with. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site. The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive. Contact us at 615-661-5333 or [email protected]

100% of MOONEY's balance will be sent to whoever adopts MOONEY.
Adopt MOONEY and Receive MOONEY's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MOONEY's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is MOONEY's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the MOONEY, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MOONEY's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MOONEY was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MOONEY’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MOONEY’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MOONEY’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
