About this Dog
Sammy is a very special boy who’s never known the stability and love every dog deserves — but we’re determined to change that. This beautiful Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix came into a rural Tennessee shelter as a stray in the fall of 2024, just over a year old. Life finally seemed to turn around when he was adopted that December, but heartbreak struck again. On July 1st, 2025, Sammy’s adoptive family lost their home and were forced to move into a small camper. At 75 pounds, there simply wasn’t room for Sammy — and with heavy hearts, they returned to the shelter for help. Thankfully, Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, and a miracle foster named Alyssa opened her heart and home to him. Sammy walked in with his usual gentle, submissive nature, as if he knew he was being given another chance. He’s been thriving in foster care with other dogs, soaking up the comfort and kindness he’s longed for his whole life. Sammy is the kind of dog you can’t help but fall in love with. He’s incredibly sweet, calm, and affectionate — soft to the touch and even softer in spirit. He walks beautifully on a leash and draws attention wherever he goes thanks to his stunning looks and soulful eyes. But more than that, he draws hearts in with his quiet plea for permanence and love. We’ve promised Sammy that his next home will be forever. His dream home includes: A fenced yard to safely explore A soft bed to call his own A family who won’t leave him alone for long hours And most of all — commitment and unconditional love Sammy is ready to be your loyal companion, your gentle best friend, your heart dog. 100% of SAMMY's balance will be sent to whoever adopts SAMMY.
Adopt SAMMY and Receive SAMMY's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, SAMMY's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is SAMMY's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the SAMMY, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming SAMMY's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SAMMY was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SAMMY’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the SAMMY’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SAMMY’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
