About this Dog
Meet Mama Mae! She is a very sweet 2-year-old Pit Bull mix who weighs about 60 lbs. Mae was found wandering in a nice neighborhood in Nashville. Miss Candi discovered her and her companion, Hershey, in the middle of the street, heading toward a busy four-lane road. She and her neighbor quickly took action and, before they knew it, both Mae and Hershey were safely in her backyard. Since no one responded to the lost and found posting, Miss Candi reached out to Critter Cavalry for assistance. Mae was named Mama Mae because her body was still recovering from delivering puppies several months ago. Mae is a healthy girl in excellent condition, so the vet spayed her. She is now fully vetted and ready to find her forever home. Mae has replaced mothering her puppies with her toys. She gently carries them around and usually ends up with all the toys. Mae is a sweet and loving girl who is great with other dogs and loves people. It may take her a little time to warm up, but once she knows you are okay, you’ll have a friend for life. Mae has made a special place in her foster dad's heart and has quickly become his favorite. She is active and loves to walk. Running or hiking would also help her regain her "girlish" figure. Mae, just like her friend Hershey, is an accomplished escape artist and needs a securely fenced yard. It's also a good idea to keep a watchful eye on her when she is in the yard. We recommend using a harness when walking or running with her and a name tag for quick identification. If you have admired this wonderful breed from afar and have considered adding one to your family, you can rest assured that Mae would be a fantastic match. With an active family, a fenced yard, and lots of love and guidance, Mae will be the angel you’ve been looking for. To be considered for Mae's forever family and to request an application, please contact Vivienne at [email protected]. An approved application and adoption fee are required. (Mae is in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)tion.)

Adopt MAMA MAE and Receive MAMA MAE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MAMA MAE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is MAMA MAE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the MAMA MAE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MAMA MAE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MAMA MAE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MAMA MAE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MAMA MAE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MAMA MAE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
