Meet Leela – The Last of Hazel’s Pups Still Searching for Her Forever Home! Sweet, smart, and full of love, Leela is a 14-week-old (as of 7/12/25) Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a heart as big as her puppy eyes. She's the only one of Hazel’s puppies still waiting for a forever family—and we know the perfect home is out there! Leela has been lovingly raised in a foster home with her mama and littermates, and she's met plenty of people—adults, kids, and other dogs. She’s even fine with cats! Leela is super social, playful, affectionate, and incredibly bright. She has no food, toy, or treat issues, and would thrive in a home with another friendly, gentle dog to keep her company. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Leela was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Leela’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Leela’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Leela’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
