About this Dog
We gave this little boy the name of Roo because he's got long legs like a kangaroo! Roo was found as a stray. He was searching for food when a lady passed by in her car and noticed him. She stopped her car and opened the door, and Roo jumped right in. A foster was found and we were asked to take him into our rescue. Roo is malnourished from his time wandering alone so he'll need to gain a few pounds - but he'll still be a smaller sized dog even once he's at a healthy weight. He weighed 28 pounds when he went to the vet on 7/29. He also has a scab around his neck as it appears that he once had a collar that was never adjusted so it started to embed into his skin - this should eventually go away now that the collar is off. In general his coat doesn't look that great right now, but it will start looking healthier now that he is in foster care and will receive proper nutrition. Despite this tough past, Roo is a super friendly boy - both with humans and with other dogs. He received his vaccinations at the vet and he is heartworm negative. He'll be neutered soon. Roo is currently with a foster in TX but will come to the NJ area when adopted. Personality: friendly, a little shy at first Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs. Has not been cat tested yet. Training: leash trained Estimated date of birth: 7/30/23 Weight: 28 pounds (as of 6/29) but he needs to gain a little bit of weight back Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, will be neutered, microchipped Location: Currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Adopt Roo and Receive Roo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Roo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Roo's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Roo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Roo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Roo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Roo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Roo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Roo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
