About this Dog
Meet Owen — A Sweet, Gentle Mini Goldendoodle Looking for a Quieter Home
Owen is a 6-year-old, 14-pound miniature Goldendoodle with an incredibly sweet, affectionate, and gentle personality. He loves being close to his people, enjoys walks, attention and companionship, and has plenty of playful moments—but at heart, Owen is a sensitive little dog who is happiest in a calm, predictable, low-stress environment.
This is an extremely difficult decision for our family because Owen is deeply loved and has been a wonderful member of our household. However, after giving it a great deal of thought, we believe the busy nature of our home simply isn't the environment in which he can be his happiest and most relaxed self.
Our household includes children of varying ages, which means frequent friends and visitors, changing schedules, and plenty of normal family activity and noise. Owen also lives with another Goldendoodle who is much more energetic, outgoing, and full of classic “doodle” playfulness. The two get along well, but his sister definitely rules the roost. Owen tends to retreat and become more introverted around higher-energy dogs and busy activity, and we believe he would blossom in a quieter setting where he could receive more individualized attention.
Owen is wonderful with children and has always been loving with our family. His ideal home, however, would probably be with an adult household—perhaps retirees, someone who works from home, or a person or couple with a quieter lifestyle—where someone is around frequently and daily routines are relatively consistent.
He could also live happily with another dog, provided that dog is calm, gentle, and respectful of his space. He is not a dog who needs a canine playmate and may be equally happy as the only dog in the household, where he can soak up all of the attention.
One important part of Owen's story is that he experiences occasional seizures, currently averaging approximately one to two per month. We have noticed that changes in routine and higher-stress situations—including significantly varying meal and walk times, unfamiliar visitors, noisy or busy environments, and more rambunctious pets—appear to sometimes be associated with his episodes. For that reason, finding a calm and consistent home is especially important to us. Owen is not currently on any seizure medication as his episodes are already relatively infrequent, however, discussions with his vet have indicated that medication could serve to further reduce or eliminate them.
Despite this, Owen is a loving little companion with so much affection to give. In the right environment, we believe he would be an incredibly rewarding dog for someone looking for a gentle companion rather than a high-energy pet.
We are not looking to simply find Owen another home. We are looking for the right home—one where he can feel secure, relaxed, loved, and genuinely thrive.
We would love to speak with anyone who believes they may be able to provide that kind of life for him and are happy to answer questions openly about Owen, his personality, his routines, and his medical history.

How will Owen receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Owen, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Owen's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Owen was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Owen’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Owen’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Owen’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
