About this Cat
Meet Pax, our sometimes feisty, but always curious "Old Man". Pax is 14. He was extremely attached to his original owner (my kids' Dad), who passed away 3 years ago. The two of them really had a symbiotic relationship. Pax loves to follow you around as you are going about your day, but what he loves most of all is when he can cuddle with you on the couch. He definitely has "catitude" and like most humans, he just wants to be loved.
Pax was raised with his "brother" Grayson (see separate write-up); he's not very fond of dogs, although he has lived with one for several years. A lot of hissing and occasional instigator to get his four-legged friend in trouble!
If Pax had his way, he would love to be an indoor-outdoor cat. Unfortunately, he has never lived in a place where that is possible. He is always eyeing the front door. We will sometimes let him hang out on our balcony from which he cannot escape. Those are his favorite times.
Pax has no known/diagnosed medical issues. In spite of his age, he does not seem to have slowed down and he still has a mischievous streak. He's a bit of a picky eater, he eats dry/wet food, but only one kind of treat. And, you do have to watch him around your plants!
The reason we are looking for a new home for Pax and Grayson is that we will no longer be able to care for pets in our new situation. We would love for the two of them to be adopted together and live out their furry lives in each other's company.

How will Pax receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Pax, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Pax's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pax was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pax’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Pax’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pax’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
