About this Dog
Twinings: The Little Gentleman with a Texas Tale Do I look like I was born on the streets of Texas? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. But believe it or not, that’s exactly where my story started—dodging cars, scrounging for food, just trying to survive. And then it happened: I got hit by a car. No family, no help, just pain and fear and the overwhelming thought that maybe this was it for me. But here’s where everything changed. Some amazing people with NorthStar Pet Rescue saw something in me—a spark worth saving—and they swept me off those streets and into a new life. A life where I didn’t have to fight to stay alive, but where I could start learning how to live. My name is Twinings (yeah, like the tea—because I’m warm, comforting, and a little fancy now), and I’m about a year old. I’m still a little guy—just 10 pounds—but I’ve got the heart of a lion and the soul of an old gentleman. I came to NorthStar with a broken pelvis, so my recovery started with a whole lotta crate rest and quiet time at my foster mom’s house. She’s been my safe place. My bones are healing—maybe not textbook perfect, but I walk and run just fine. The only thing I ask? Help me out with stairs, please. I’ll gladly let you scoop me up. But I love going for walks & do just fine. Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m sweet, gentle, and crazy polite. I wait to be invited into rooms (like I said—gentleman). I’m crate trained (although I am NEVER destructive and foster mom leaves me uncrated when she's gone), house trained, and I take correction like a champ. No tantrums here, just tail wags. I absolutely LOVE other dogs—big ones, little ones, all of ’em. I really do need another dog in the home (preferably one who will play with me). It helps me feel secure, confident, and just… happier. Oh—and I took the “no puppy pledge” and was neutered follow by some R&R at foster mom's home. I am now ready to leave my Texas past behind and become a full-blown Jersey boy. If you’re the kind of person who believes in second chances, in rooting for the underdog (literally), and in opening your heart to a tiny survivor with a huge spirit, then I think we were meant to find each other. Submit your application and ask for Twinings. He’s ready for the next chapter—will it be with you?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Twinings TX, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Twinings TX's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Twinings TX was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Twinings TX’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Twinings TX’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Twinings TX’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
