Khloe (and her sister Babs) lived with the same owner for all of her 12 years. Their world was turned upside down when their owner had a stroke and could no longer care for her dogs. And as is the case way too often, no one in the family was in a position to take the girls into their home. So Khloe and Babs were on the hunt for a new life and being the heroes that they are, Northstar stepped up for both girls. Khloe is 12 years old with no known health issues at this time and she weighs about 10 lbs. Her Texas foster will be getting to know her over the next few weeks so we will provide more info as we get it. The girls spent the last 2 years never leaving the house so foster mom has been working on making Khloe feel comfortable when she goes outdoors. We will also take her to our vet to make sure she is as healthy as she seems. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Khloe TX was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Khloe TX’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Khloe TX’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Khloe TX’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
