About this Bird
Marion is a beautiful White Dove, and she is up for adoption through our Help With Rehoming program. Marion's family is looking to rehome her to a family where she won't be confined, as she is now, due to the Rescue cats in the home. Marion's family also doesn't have as much time or room as they used to- they have a newborn baby and several other Rescue animals they're caring for. Marion's cage is a great size for her, so Marion would need to go to a home with enough space for her large, flight cage. Marion doesn’t exactly “step up” but her mom is able to hold her in both of her hands, and Marion gets very calm. Her mom says she’ll let her give her head pets too. Rather than flying, Marion, kind of flutters around the room. Marion loves attention and makes her way over to her mom, and she likes to fly on her head or hang out nearby her.Marion doesn’t scream, like many parrots do, but she makes a lot of cooing sounds, and it’s kind of loud when she wants to be social. Marion is confirmed female, as she does lay eggs from time to time. Her mom works hard to keep her laying to a minimum, because too many eggs, can deplete a bird's body of calcium, which makes it impossible for them to form eggs strong enough to lay, therefore causing them to become "egg bound". It can be a dangerous and even deadly condition for birds that lay frequently. Her mom makes sure there isn't anything in Marion's cage that she might perceive as a nest, which wouild trigger her body to lay. She also doesn't take her eggs away when she lays, as that would also trigger her to lay more. Instead, her mom shakes the eggs and then lets her sit on them until she loses interest, or she switches them out with fake "dummy" eggs, which allows Marion to continue to sit on them. If you're interested in adopting Marion, please fill out an application today! She is with her current owner, in Point Pleasant, NJ, and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. We will NOT ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location. Adopt Marion and Receive Marion's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Marion's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Marion's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Marion, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Marion's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Marion was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Marion’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Marion’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Marion’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
