Hatch Date: 2014 & 2020 Romeo (yellow) and Nico (grey) are two wonderful cockatiels. Romeo is 5 years old and Nico is 11 years old. They are believed to be male but have not been DNA sexed. Nico is quite timid, and Romeo is semi-hand-tame, stepping up only for a reward. These two sweet birds are not aggressive and quiet, and chirp occasionally throughout the day. They are much more comfortable away from their cage, though they only come out on their terms. These two currently share a room with two very talkative budgies and sometimes hang out on top of their cage. They would do well in a household with other small birds. They are currently eating a seed and pellet mix and do not seem to be open to fresh foods yet, but we are hoping to change that! Romeo loves spray bottle baths, and Nico tolerates them. These two wonderful birds have lots of personality and are looking for a home that will take the time to build a strong relationship with them! They have been disease tested for chlamydia and PBFD. Nico and Romeo are being fostered in Newtown, PA. We do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer private homes. We only allow approved applicants to make the required visits. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Romeo and Nico was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Romeo and Nico’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Romeo and Nico’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Romeo and Nico’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
