About this Bird
Hatch Date: 2018 Mango is an approximately 6 y/o DNA tested male cockatiel. As you can see from his pictures, he is extremely handsome and he loves it when you talk to him! He has been an only bird his entire life, however, we have discovered that he does wonderfully with other birds, especially cockatiels. He will mimic every move and sound and exhibits a yearning for a buddy and companionship. Currently at his foster home, he loves being around the other birds in the home. He is still getting used to human interaction and we have been working with him on learning how to step up, but he would rather just sit with you and talk or hang out. He's afraid of hands from past trauma, but in time, this may change. All of a sudden he will just bust out into a beautiful song, as he is also learning his voice. He loves looking out the window and has started discovering the toys and paper in his cage. He loves to shred paper when he's hanging out on the bottom of the cage chilling, which is something he's continued to do since we got him, even though he has a whole big new cage to himself. Mango is looking for a wonderful and patient family (preferably with a male buddy for him) to love and work with him on hand training and companionship. He has a very gentle demeanor and would do great in a home with another calmer male Tiel for a buddy. He has tons of potential, so a family with lots of patience and understanding is a must! There can also be no dogs or cats in the home, as Mango has previous trauma from a dog who consistently barked at him. Mango is currently on a strict pellet diet, which he has acclimated to beautifully. He has also been vetted, disease tested, and given a clean bill of health. Mango is being fostered in Hillsborough, NJ, and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. We will NOT ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA We do not have a central location. Mango is living in a volunteer's private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits. If interested in adopting Mango, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org Please read our adoption policies & procedures and complete an adoption application.

Adopt Mango and Receive Mango's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mango's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Mango's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Mango, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Mango's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mango was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mango’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mango’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mango’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
