Hatch Date: Marley - 2019 and Tequila - 2018? Marley is a 6-year-old female Pineapple Conure (has laid eggs) Tequila is a 7-year-old male yellow Parakeet. They have been together for a very long time. Marley and Tequila are a pretty awesome bonded pair that will be adopted together. Both birds are hand-tamed, but Tequila loves to fly around more than hang with you. Marley is hand-tame but requires lots of patience and understanding as you work with her. She needs some out-of-cage time for a bit before you try to have her step up. She is a typical Conure, who will run all over you if you let her ;) She can be nippy at times and needs someone familiar with Conure behavior. She enjoys her alone time with her foster mom. Tequila is more independent but will call out if you take Marley away for any length of time. Professional flyer Tequila is, and sometimes hovers like a helicopter :D They enjoy their out-of-cage time in the morning and evening. Both are flyers; however, they have become accustomed to hanging out in and on their cage and only take an occasional flight for exercise. Marley loves being with her person and seems to be more of a woman’s bird, Yet will also tolerate men. Tequila loves to socialize with other birds. We are looking for a home with some other (smaller) feathered friends that would love to have a new friend visit on occasion :) The foster home has other small birds, and Tequilla is thrilled to visit them on their cages. Tequila likes to try and make new friends with just about everyone. We make sure Tequila is only around other like-sized birds. We’ve discovered that Marley needs a solid structure in order not to get overstimulated, which leads to nipping and moodiness. With lots of patience and time, she will form a long-lasting bond with her new owner. Marley is very inquisitive and a smart Conure for sure! This pair will make a loving addition to any bird-loving home. Both Marley and Tequila are hearty eaters. They eat all sorts of healthy fruits and veggies, pellets, and get small seeds. These two are being fostered in Leonardo, NJ. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. We have no central location. You must be within driving distance to make required visits and to adopt. We will NOT ship our birds. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes or their family home, We only allow approved applicants to meet our birds. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Marley and Tequila was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Marley and Tequila’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Marley and Tequila’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Marley and Tequila’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
