Meet Howie! This adorable 9 month old, 42 pound Heeler mix is ready to find his forever family! Howie came to us from a local hoarding and neglect case, and while his past wasn’t easy, he’s been learning what love and kindness really mean. Once he knows you’re a friend, he lights up and LOVES attention from his humans. Howie is eager to please, treat motivated, leash trained, and already mastering basic commands like “sit”. He’s crate trained and finds comfort in his safe space. Potty training is still a work in progress after where he came from, but he’s making great strides and just needs a patient, consistent routine. He gets along well with other dogs after an introduction and he enjoys playtime, though he’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. He’s even good with cats! Howie loves toys, bully sticks, and bones. He’s still a puppy so continued training is a must. He is now neutered, fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, microchipped, and dewormed. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Howie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Howie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Howie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Howie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
