About this Dog
Meet Abigail – Your Loyal Hiking Buddy & Goofy Sidekick Abigail is a 4.5-year-old Great Pyrenees with a heart as big as her fluffy coat. Like a true Pyr, she’s happiest when she’s with her people—aloof at first, but once she loves you, she’s yours for life. She came to us through no fault of her own. Her former family sold their farm, and the new residents were uncomfortable with large dogs. Abigail was surrendered to the Bitterroot Humane Association, but this gorgeous girl doesn’t belong in a shelter—so we pulled her into our care to help her find the right match. Abigail has been well-loved and cared for. She’s spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and walks beautifully on a leash. She’s independent, a little goofy, and absolutely adores hiking and exploring. She’s also great in the car, making her the perfect adventure partner. She does well with other dogs when introduced properly and is easygoing with her canine companions. Indoors, she’s calm around cats, but outside she’ll give chase if they run. She’s not suitable for homes with free-roaming chickens, rabbits, or other small prey. Abigail has been used to living on acreage and respects most boundaries—but she is clever and can climb fences, so her ideal home would be in a rural setting with space to roam and no close neighbors. She’s also sensitive to thunderstorms, fireworks, and loud noises, so having someone home during those times helps her feel safe. She’s never been around children, so we aren’t sure how she would do in a home with them. What we do know is that she’s a classic Pyr—independent, devoted, and deeply loyal once she trusts you. If you’re ready for a stunning, steadfast companion who will happily hit the trails with you and keep you laughing with her goofy charm, Abigail is waiting to meet you. She’s currently at Old Farm Kennels in Florence, MT—just call to set up an appointment.

Adopt Abigail and Receive Abigail's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Abigail's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Abigail's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Abigail, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Abigail's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Abigail was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Abigail’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Abigail’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Abigail’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
