About this Horse
Bernadette is a sweet Grade mare who came to us in the summer of 2024. When she arrived, she was underweight and acted unhandled. It took some time for Bernadette to get used to her new life at the Ranch. Once she began her groundwork and passed some of the basics, our trainers were ready to evaluate her. Upon evaluation, our trainers found that Bernadette (surprisingly) responded to bridle pressure. She backed up nicely and was fairly soft in the mouth. Upon evaluation under saddle, however, our trainers found that Bernadette was uncomfortable. She did not like being saddled, girthed, and mounted. She would shake violently while our trainers attempted to work with her while doing these things. At this point, due to her age and lack of training under saddle, we believe Bernadette would do best as a pasture pet. Donât let this sway your opinion of this cutie! Bernadette has kind eyes and a gentle soul. Once she settles into a new routine, Bernadette shines. She gets along with other horses and tends to be on the lower end of the pecking order. Once you gain her trust, Bernadette enjoys the occasional pet of affection. While she is still working on being comfortable with our farrier, she has already come a far way in her training. We think she would do best with a confident handler who has the time to earn her trust and work with her to be the best horse she can be.Adoption Fee: $300Height:13.3hhMaximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 180 lbs

Adopt BERNADETTE and Receive BERNADETTE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, BERNADETTE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is BERNADETTE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the BERNADETTE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming BERNADETTE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and BERNADETTE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, BERNADETTE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the BERNADETTE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, BERNADETTE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
