While most adoptions are urgent this is a tough circumstance.
It is with a heavy heart that we have gotten to the point where my mom is a 70 year old widow and unable to keep her pup, Bo. He is too big for her to manage on her own and due to a recent incident where he got out of his collar, he is no longer welcome in her apartment complex.
Bo is an 8 year old couch potato, who needs to be the only animal in the home. He needs a strong handler with experience in reactivity towards other animals.
He is UTD on vaccines and preventatives and is neutered.
With the shelters overflowing, we have no other place to go for help. If anyone is able to take in this man for his golden years, we would be forever grateful. We will send him with all his supplies.
All my family has pets of our own so we cannot take him in.
She said if she can’t find anyone, she will have to put him down. Which is why I’m writing this because I don’t want that to happen at all.
I am heartbroken.

How will Bo receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Bo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Bo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
