About this Dog

To Whom It May Concern, My name is Kerry Jones. My wife and I live in Jackson, MS.  About 7 months ago, we took in a pit/mix puppy that was abandoned at a construction site on Highway 80 in Clinton, MS. I walked him around the neighborhood for a while and nobody could identify the dog. We also reached out to the local Veterinary Clinic and Animal Control, but no one had reported a missing dog. We tried several times over the next couple of weeks, but had no results. Since then, we have been looking for a shelter or a home to take him in, but we haven’t had any success. We understand that many shelters, including the ones in our area, are full and/or often have limited resources. However, My wife and I are reaching out to in-state and out of state shelters and hope of finding someone who will be able to take him in.  In the meantime, we have affectionately named him “Hank”. We have also had him neutered and made sure he’s received all of his shots. We’ve also done some behavioral training, and try to socialize him as much as possible.  My wife and I both have full-time jobs that keep us away from the house most of the day, and often include one of us having to go out of town from time to time. Due to our limited availability, and financial resources, we don’t know how much longer we will be able to take care of him. We were wondering if you all happen to have any space available at your shelter, and if not, we would be willing to be put on a waiting list if you all have one. We are even willing to drive out of state in order to find him a place. We would also appreciate any resources or help that you all may have. Thank you so much for your time. - Kerry and SaraCaroline Jones

How will Hank receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Hank, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Hank's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Hank was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Hank’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Hank’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Hank’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
