After spending most of her life confined and used solely for breeding, Journey is finally discovering what it means to be a dog—and more importantly, what it means to be loved. Since arriving at her foster home, she has already come such a long way. What was once a timid, overwhelmed pup is now a sweet, steady companion who's beginning to trust, explore, and enjoy life. She hasn’t had a single potty accident in the house and is doing wonderfully on a leash—walking at a calm, steady pace without pulling. Journey is also kennel trained, but after so many years in a confined space, she much prefers the comfort of a soft bed next to you or a cozy spot on the couch. She’s a certified bed snuggler who will happily curl up beside you and melt into your presence. Loud noises can still startle her at times, and she's continuing to build her confidence day by day. But with time, patience, and kindness, Journey continues to bloom. Once she decides you're her person, she’s all in—your loyal little shadow, following you closely and always ready for love. She has a gentle, sweet spirit and a heart that’s slowly healing. Belly rubs are her favorite, and once you start, she’ll kindly let you know she’d like you to keep going. Since she’s still learning how to "be a dog," Journey would do best in a home with another calm, confident dog who can help show her the ropes. She currently lives peacefully with both dogs and cats in her foster home and gets along with all of them. Journey’s story is one of quiet resilience and incredible strength. After years of giving life, she's finally learning to live hers—free from cages, free from litters, and surrounded by soft beds, tasty treats, and the love she always deserved. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Journey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Journey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Journey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Journey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
