About this Dog
Meet Cocoa (formerly Chocolate) — a big, sweet chunk of love with a gentle soul and a calm demeanor to match. At around 4 years old, this handsome Aussie is as mellow as they come, perfectly content to lounge around and soak up affection. His relaxed vibe may be partly why he’s such a solid boy—more cuddles, less cardio! Cocoa has very limited vision, if any at all, so he relies on patience, kind voices, and gentle guidance to navigate his world. He does best with a double leash outdoors and appreciates when you keep up a little conversation during walks so he always knows where you are. He walks well on leash, doesn’t pull hard, and redirects easily with a soft voice. Cocoa loves pets and is always happy to get a Milk-Bone treat or two. He’s crate-trained, will not soil his crate, and does well pottying on leash, though he’s still working on full housetraining. He can get a bit anxious if left loose and loses track of where you are, so a predictable, loving home will go a long way for him. Cocoa doesn't mind cats. He mostly ignores them. He gets along well with other dogs and is more confident when he is able to "follow" another dog around. Cocoa will occasionally play with the foster's one year old dog. Cocoa is looking for a patient, loving home that understands his needs and is ready to help him feel safe and secure. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, affection, and the sweetest kind of companionship. Check out this sweet video of Cocoa. Cocoa recently began taking Levetiracetam twice daily (every 12 hours) to manage seizure activity. He is also currently being treated for a retinal detachment and is on eye drops as part of his care. A follow-up eye recheck is scheduled which should provide more clarity on his ongoing eye condition. Cocoa is from a breeder release. Adopt Cocoa and Receive Cocoa's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cocoa's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Cocoa's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Cocoa, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Cocoa's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cocoa was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cocoa’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cocoa’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cocoa’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
