About this Dog

My family needs to find a forever home for Bella who we took in from an urgent situation over a year ago. She is 3 years old and is most likely a St. Bernard/ Great Pyrenees mix. She weighs about 75 lbs. Her previous owner had done some obedience with her and she did go through doggy boot camp twice prior to coming to us. She really wants to please people but she can get overexuberant at times needing reminders not to jump or cuddle with you forcefully. We live on a corner lot in an active neighborhood, which is hard for her because she loves to bark at all of the passersby. We don’t have a fenced yard, so she is currently being walked on a leash whenever she goes out. She does pretty well with a prong collar, but will pull heavily without one. She did have a traumatic incident were she was repeatedly attacked by another female dog, which is what precipitated us agreeing to taking her in urgently late one night. Since then, she has had a lot of difficulty with female dogs and has had two incidents where she went after two female dogs walking in our neighborhood when she escaped. Therefore, placement in a home with other female dogs most likely would not be a good fit and she may need a slow introduction to other pets overall. For the most part, she does well with our male standard poodle and three cats. She does occasionally chase one of our cats, but not the others. She does guards resources sometimes, so if she has a bone or toy she can bark and lunge at the other animals (she is mainly bark and has never hurt any of them), so we keep these things to a minimum. She really wants to please people and would do best with someone who has time to work with her one on one and in a house in a quiet area with a fenced yard. We took her in with the understanding that she was on a list to go to another rescue. This has never panned out. We have been caring for two sick relatives and we just cannot care for her anymore. Agreeing to take her in in the first place has put a large strain on our relationship since the one who is not a dog person, works from home and needs to do the majority of her daily care. Therefore, we need to find another home for her.

Adopt Bella and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bella's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Bella receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Bella, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Bella's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bella was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bella’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Bella’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bella’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
