About this Cat
Ten-month-old brothers Scooter and Peanut Butter overcame a hard start but are doing great and are excited to find their forever home!“Scoots” is a long-legged sweetheart, sometimes shy, but also very playful with a big purr.Peanut Butter is a special little munchkin. He was born last of the litter, was a little slower to grow up, and per the vet, is an intersex kitty–but PB is happy to tell everyone now that he has now caught up to his brother Scooter! He also wants you to know that he’s got a cool personality, lots of curiosity, and playful energy. PB got the short end of the stick in his early days, so he has a love of the simple pleasures, like drinking water–especially out of the bathroom sink! This means some big pees (he uses the litter box like a champ!) and so far, no kidney issues per the vet. (The vet said his big thirst probably comes from not getting enough water early in his life.)For this reason, there are several water stations all around the house for all the cats, but especially for Peanut Butter. His forever humans would need to do the same, to keep him happy and healthy! When it comes to mealtimes, these two are ALL IN–they have hearty appetites. These bonded brothers are active boys who love kitty play tunnels, chasing each other (and the other cats) around the house, jumping up high on the cat tower, chasing the feathered wand, or playing fetch with their favorite toys. Sometimes PB can get a bit underfoot when humans are standing or moving too close to him, as he doesn’t respond as quickly as Scooter does when it comes to getting out of the way; his forever family will just have to keep an eye out and make sure sweet little PB has plenty of room to move. (This is especially true during high-traffic areas like at feeding time.)Both of these cool dudes seem quite fond of the resident dog, who is very mellow and tolerant of their antics. They are sweet, easy kittens to have around, adaptable to whatever routine the humans set. They both enjoy sleeping with their humans, but Peanut Butter in particular loves to get into bed, cuddle close, and drift off to kitty dreamland. They also can spend some quality time staring out the window at the bird feeder, watching their favorite show, “Goldfinch,” every day. These two would do best with humans who work from home or are around a lot (their foster person is retired, so they are acclimated to having lots of company). They seem to enjoy the presence of all the other household cats, the household dog, and people, yet they can also happily go off to their own play, or rest when they feel they need it. These guys are just precious little darlings. Due to tough experiences in their original home with a “protection dog,” only a gentle, mellow canine friend would be a good fit and well accepted. Because Peanut Butter is a unique being, and needs a touch more attention, only experienced cat person(s) would be the best fit for these little loves. These sweethearts had a very hard start for such young boys, but they have thrived in their cozy, affectionate foster home, and would love to continue their peaceful journey with the right patient, compassionate, cat-savvy humans.
