About this Dog
Meet Gertie – Your New Snuggle Queen! Age: 8.5 years | Breed: Pitbull | Weight: 55 lbs Adoption Fee: $375 | Spayed: Yes If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and hug-obsessed companion, look no further than Gertie . This sweet 8-year-old lap dog is all about love — giving it, receiving it, and soaking up every ounce of attention she can get. Her foster family describes her as a people-pleaser who lives for snuggles, kisses, and being close to her humans. Gertie came from a home with multiple dogs, but in foster care, she’s really blossomed as the center of attention. While she’s had doggy housemates before, she truly thrives as the only pet, soaking up all the love she may have missed out on in the past. She’d be happiest in a calmer home with older children or adults who can give her the affection and stability she craves. She’s crate trained (though currently enjoys free-range access to the back area of the house), fully potty trained, and has no health concerns or medications. Gertie does fine when left alone, but don’t be surprised if she lets out a little “I miss you” serenade as you walk out the door—she just really loves her people. Gertie would make an incredibly loyal and loving addition to a family ready to shower her with the affection she’s waited so patiently for. Ready to give Gertie the forever home she deserves? Apply today and let her fill your life with snuggles, smiles, and unconditional love. As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior.

Adopt Gertie and Receive Gertie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gertie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Gertie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Gertie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gertie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gertie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gertie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Gertie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gertie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
