Princess Pug came to rescue as an owner surrender, but you’d never guess she’s had a big life change—this girl is all about making friends. She’s a happy, social pup who gets along with dogs of every size and age, and she’s wonderfully gentle with kids (her foster’s youngest grandchild is just 3 and she adores him). With a friendly temperament and bursts of playful energy balanced by solid lounge time, Princess Pug is easy to have around. She’s leash trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and even knows how to let herself out with a doggy door. Without one, she’ll use a potty pad and keep her kennel clean while you’re away. She has a few quirks that make her extra charming—like her hilarious “spin and bounce” routine at mealtime, or her determination to leap onto the couch instead of using the small step right in front of her. Princess Pug loves stuffed toys, enjoys the occasional chew, and is just as happy sleeping in your bed as she is in her kennel. She’d thrive in a home with another playful dog, but what she really wants is to be where the fun (and love) is. Princess Pug is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 08/22/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about this program. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
