Meet Bento – A Loyal, Lovable Goofball in the Making Bento is a fun-loving pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s full of playful energy, loves rolling in the grass, and proudly carries his favorite stuffed toys around the house like treasures. Mealtime and belly rubs are two of his greatest joys—and once you earn his trust, you’ll get to see just how affectionate and devoted he can be. Bento is currently adjusting to a new foster home, and while the transition has been a little overwhelming for him, he’s showing his resilience day by day. Like many sensitive dogs, he just needs a bit of time, structure, and encouragement to settle in and feel safe. Once that bond is formed, he’ll be your shadow, your protector, and your goofy best friend. He’s crate and potty trained, content when home alone with a cozy bed and some toys, and always ready for the next snack. Bento is very food-motivated and is working on taking treats more gently. His eagerness to learn makes him a great candidate for continued training—especially with someone excited to help him build his confidence and grow. Bento would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who understands the needs of a more timid dog. Because he can be unsure around strangers and overwhelmed by fast movements or chaos, a quieter environment will help him feel secure. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, they’ll need to be tolerant of his enthusiastic energy, as he's still learning to read social cues. Bento is from a local impound. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bento was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bento’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bento’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bento’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
